BJP MP Manoj Tigga on Thursday criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government over the alleged attack on BJP leader Arjun Singh’s residence. He accused the ruling party of targeting opposition leaders and claimed that law and order in West Bengal had collapsed. "The West Bengal government does not believe in democracy and the Constitution. BJP leaders are being deliberately targeted, and the state is being run through violence and intimidation," Tigga stated.
Tigga further alleged that BJP leaders in West Bengal have been repeatedly attacked, and the administration has failed to take action. He linked the attack to broader concerns of governance, claiming that the state was witnessing increasing incidents of political violence and corruption. "The people of Bengal are watching and will respond with their votes in 2026," he said, referring to the upcoming assembly elections.
The BJP has demanded an immediate investigation and strict action against those responsible. The TMC has denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated. No official confirmation regarding arrests or police action has been issued. The incident has heightened political tensions between the ruling and opposition parties as Bengal heads towards crucial elections.
